This November 22nd, the Hunger Games Trilogy hits theaters. If you are familiar with the film, the on-set costumes are certainly visually stimulating. Costume designer Trish Summerville was recently interviewed by Lucky Magazine. In her interview, she mentions being inspired by bugs- Praying Mantises to be exact. She says that it was their hard shell that inspired some of the looks designed for the Peacekeepers.
Apparently she also pulled a suitcase with a molded spine from Alexander McQueen.
The character Effie Trinket wears mostly McQueen during the film. Who can be upset with that?

I’m constantly looking for inspiration for the clothing that I’m wearing and seeing that you can be inspired from a bug (I have a rocky relationship with bugs) astounds me.
