Our fellow fashionistas, we haven’t abandoned you here at DNA Stylix. We have been busy styling a few photo shoots and those take up a lot of time.
The floral Willow & Clay dress we pulled for one of the spring shoots was recently featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine.
We will share our photo shoots soon, but first, let’s get through these recaps.
So, onward we go!
NYFW DAY 4 Recap
Zac Posen
While we adore Zac for his tailoring and his straight lines which he captured, this collection used some new elements.
He chose the usual fall color pallet – grey, navy, and rust. He then brightened it with a citrine embroidered gown.
However, the pink gown just seemed very out of place.
The black gown with the the body curve lines seemed like she was missing the Spiderman emblem on her chest.

DKNY
Style.com’s review begins like this – “DKNY recently collaborated with Opening Ceremony on a capsule of reissued classics from the label’s nineties heyday…”
We can certainly see the 90’s influence – especially in the rounded sweater shoulder. This rounded shoulder trend will certainly be popular this fall.
A tiny little hint if you want to save money on your wardrobe – honestly, hit up the goodwill/thrift stores. This style came from the 90’s and no doubt you can find something cool. We scored a really sweet ’rounded shoulder’ sweater in a graphic black and white just this winter.
We liked this collection from DKNY – we just weren’t too wild about her prints (which we aren’t featuring). We get where she was going, but they just didn’t wow us.

The color blocking was probably our fave.
The only main critique we had was, ‘What the hell is Donna wearing?’
It looks like she got stuffed in a trash bag.
We know she was paying homage to 90’s StreetStyle with her quilted bomber, and back in the 90’s it definitely had it’s moments of greatness, but that just looked horrible. Bad choice, Donna.
